Lono will be spinning his Vintage Hawaiian Vinyl and our band Momo and The Pu'uwai's will play a short live set!     We are excited to have Kumu Mahealani for the Spirit Weavers Gathering 2022 in Cave Junction, Oregon! This experience will help to guide and connect you through the ancient traditions of Hawaiian Spirituality of the Island of Molokai. Through sacredness of pule (prayer), the process of oli (chant), the life ways of pono (goodness; righteousness), the importance of ‘Ohana and caring for the ‘aina (land) and to reconnect to the beginnings and foundation of self to reveal the bowl of light.

  • Lei Hulu No Hawai'i

    We are excited to have Kumu Mahealani for the Spirit Weavers Gathering 2022 in Cave Junction, Oregon! Learn the basics in the traditional artistry of Hawaiian Featherwork. In this class you will learn how to make na hulu Pua, feather flowers to make lei or to wear in your hair to celebrate and create a keepsake for our sacred and joyful gathering.

  • Asian American/Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Festival

    Join us in celebrating Asian American & Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Day on Saturday, May 21st, from 10am to 2pm at the Santa Monica Mountains Visitor Center @ King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas, California.

    The inaugural event will be hosted by National Park Service rangers from Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and the Western National Parks Association (WNPA).

    Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders have a rich heritage thousands of years old. These cultures have helped shape the history of the the United States.

    Activities and presentations will highlight these diverse and fascinating cultures.

    Throughout the day, there will be Taiko drumming, Hawaiian Featherwork and lei-making, Japanese and Chinese calligraphy, Japanese music and historical presentations on Chinese abalone fisherman by rangers from neighboring Channel Islands National Park.

    A variety of cultural dances will also be performed including ancient and modern hula dancing, Japanese folk dancing and Filipino dancing.

  • Mo'aukala o Na Hana Hulu no Hawai'i - The History of Hawaiian Featherwork

    Kumu Mahealani Linder takes you on a historical journey with Hawai’i’s sacred and most reassured mastery, Lei Hulu, a truly revered cultural art form made with patience, aloha and mana.

    We journey from Hawai’i’s native birds through the intricate process of creating feather adornments, feather lei, as well as the exquisite cloaks and helmets of Hawaiian royalty.

    The class is for kanaka ‘kiwi and anyone who is interested in the art of Na Hana Hulu (Hawaiian featherwork), Hawai’i and Hawaiian Culture.

    Kumu Hula Mahealani Linder carries the lineage of Auntie Noelani McIntosh of Kae’ohe, Oahu. She holds the title of Alaka’i Hulu of beloved Kumu Lokelani Reichert of Lei Hulu of California, who is also from Kane’ohe, O’ahu.

    Born in Manila, Philippines, she is of Filipino, Polynesian, Pan-Asian, Native American, West African and Papuan descent and co antiques to study and research all of her ancestral origins.

    She incorporates an indigenous perspective within the modalities of the modern world.
